    Dear Diane...

...what do you think these two young men think of your gun-grabbing? And more importantly, what would you have to say to their loved ones if you were responsible for their deaths should your asinine laws be forced on us?

An AR is a great home defense firearm. Problem is, it "scares" people. It scares intruders (good) but it also scares policy makers (bad). We're dealing with a lot of ignorance out there. Given the current political climate, write to your state and federal reps and senators and politely, intelligently, and plainly tell them why any ban on these defensive firearms is unacceptable!

    She couldn't care less.

You will not persuade her or her ilk, no matter your facts.

But, as with so many others, you get an A for the logic, which is a word that seems to be on the ban list.

Whether something scares policy makers or not should have nothing to do with violating the 2nd Amendment. The "government" is supposed to be subordinate to the people - "scared" that they won't get re-elected is what they should be. The guns aren't scary - they're just manipulating people to create a problem they can "fix".

    Dear Diane...

Deterrent is indeed a benefit of the AR-15 style rifle. See: LA Riots of '92.
