It's a Mystery!
Well I decided since I had little to do today I would inventory my ammo supplies and do a long overdue documentation of the weapons I lost in my tragic boating accident.
After doing a full check on everything I ran in to a small mystery. I bought 50 rds of SD ammo in 9mm a while back. Loaded 45 rds in three 15 rd magazines. One of the mags came up one short today.
After an quick check to make sure it wasn't left in the chamber of a weapon I was relived to not find it there, but still one round short. Being a pretty careful person to a point just short of OCD it bugs me.
I am just glad I don't have any kids at home anymore.

Maybe you just shorted one,or your better half has been practicing behind your back.

Well I know the other half hasn't been practicing.
She is not a gun person at all.
She could be saving it for my untimely demise but I doubt it. LOL

That would be a mystery since I have never had a box of factory ammo that was shy a round.
It's possible though that if you purchased a box of ammo at a gun shop somebody there could have pulled a cartridge out and depending on where in the box they pulled it from you may not have known that you started out one cartridge short.

When the black SUV's showed up here with the DHS stickers I kept a record of every weapon I turned over to them, just in case they come back.
The dog ate the missing round it is now out int the yard some where.

Have you noticed the ghost of Barney Fife rummaging around your ammo supply?

Same here. I don't drink any more... but I don't drink any less, either.

I don't know about a ghost but I did hear that is the next step in gun control for NY.
You are only allowed one bullet and it is to be kept in a pocket that can be secured.

When I have this happen, I find the round rolling around in the bottom of my range bag because it was the one round of expensive ammo I had chambered when I got to the range, but didn't want to waste. Pop the mag, unchamber the round, refill with practice ammo. So check your range bag and whatever jacket you might been wearing.
