Anyway, carry on.
Anyway, carry on.
If we were to calculate the rankings based on percent of the population - Montana wins - 61.4% (Unless I missed something).
Less than half the folks here in KY own a gun??? Yeah right.
Now,that I know who tried to come up with figures,I wonder whereor where they were directed for numbers.I don't believe I can go along
with the numbers.Maine closer to 50% ownership and this certainly doesn't have The Presidents bump.I bet all state numbers are higher.
These were just the ARs.Quote:
I bet all state numbers are higher.
This list is underestimating by a huge amount. Crap data.
Dang it!! We are number one in to total guns here in Texas but our percentage of population is unacceptably low. There is no reason that we shouldn't be leading in that category too. I am so disappointed. :(
According to this data, Montana is the number 1 in gun owners by population percent, but states ranking 1st through 31st all have TWICE as many gun owners as Montana. Montana is great, lots of gun owners, not lots of people.
Give me $100K and I will do a 6-months "STUDY".
What results do you what ?
How they acquire this information is by asking parents during well-baby visits. For those without kids or who are unfamiliar - with newborn kids there's a series of doctor visits recommended between birth and age 6. There are 4 regular doctor visits for the first year - they get their immunizations on schedule, height/weight/size monitored to make sure they're growing properly etc.
One thing they also do is question parents to determine "risk factors" based on age. For instance, at or about 6 months, baby should be able to roll over and sit up unassisted. If they can't it can indicate a problem.
Standard question by the pediatrician - first visit - are there any guns in the home?
And this is where they are getting their numbers.
Edit to add - whenever I've been asked this ? at the doctor, I tell them I decline to answer. But my wife...
