I have a guy who wants to trade glocks straight up . We both live in Texas .
Does that mean we can ship them directly to each other being we are in the same state? Meaning, not using a FFL.

Legally yes if you use a common or contract carrier (a nonlicensee can't ship a handgun via USPS). However, you will likely run into problems with the carrier's own rules and policies. Last I checked, neither UPS nor FedEx shipping policies would allow doing what you want to do.
I'd say just do a FFL
1. You don't want FedEX or UPS to somehow screw you and make a mess of you shipping guns even though you can.
2. What if the other guy screws you?
