An article I came across. A few days old, but interesting.
Some sample info:
RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.
FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!
Armalite: Maxed out.
DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
Full article here.

The article I linked has this to say:
AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.
Looks like it might last a while...

I missed your comment when I was re-reading. I guess I won't be shooting my AR at the range until I can get more. Don't like falling under 500 rounds...that's where I get nervous.

...Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.
...it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up.
Why?

Can't use sticks around here....people are stock piling branches from the trees. We are down to dirt clods around here.

I'm surprised S&W isn't focusing on M&P 15s, although they're probably selling anything just as quickly.

lol it's funny how there is no shortage of shotgun rounds. Nor has the price of said rounds gone up. I'm glad I have a shotgun I can go shoot whenever I want. Sure can't go through my valuable handgun ammo.

I hope all this pressure to produce their products doesn't evolve into a quality control issue?
Some of these manufactures have a hard enough time making reliable firearms products under normal circumstances as it is.
Now they are ALL under the....gun....to make as much as they can, too make as much as they can, during this feeding-frenzy, or before anything gets banned.
Then if there are any adjustments to be made, as in re-tooling to compensate for any production changes. Hell as it is they could be playing catchup for months.
Besides with the Government and LEO's stockpiling, and the general public stockpiling third inline. It don't seem like Old Mother Hubbard's LGStore shelves will be full again, anytime soon?
It is making it very hard to go practice punchin paper these days

I hope the zip-gun industry is able to keep up with buy-back programs.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
