I have witnessed them failing in the past (the springs for my brothers Hi-power mags failed), however I've not had any issues. I keep many loaded, but I also rotate them every few months if they haven't seen any use.

    Never unload my mags.....ever!!!

I went to the range two weeks ago with my carry weapon. I haven't cleaned my carry weapon in a while and there was lint and junk around the hammer and firing pin. I never rotate my mags and I don't unload at night either. I just drop the hammer when I leave it on the night stand. Anyways, as I fired my first round my weapon fired as usual and cycled a new round as usual. I thought there was going to be problems with the lint but there wasn't at all. I don't even think I cleaned the thing since my last trip to the range. The thing just works and I was impressed. I did learn on thing. It shoots better with a fouled barrel.
