    Proud of my daughter!

I was watching re-runs of Mad Men last night with my 11 year-old daughter. There was a scene where one of the characters has a .22 rifle at work and starts horse-playing with it, aiming at his buddies and then aiming at all the office workers for fun.

Before I could say anything, my daughter yells out, "What an idiot! Doesn't he know basic gun rules?! You never, ever point a gun at anyone!"

Glad to see that she takes our range time seriously and I was glad her response so quick.

Now that is the sign of a good parent. My guess is your daughter understands and respects guns, but does not fear them.

I liked her response. Then she knows to get out of Dodge if some jerk starts acting like in the movie!

Good job. That shows that you've been a great example of good safe gun handling and that she's listening and been paying attention. She will grow up to be a safe responsible gun owner.

    Proud of my daughter!

I was watching a show with my son a couple of years ago when he was 9 or 10. the good guys were armed with m4's and my son said "they're not going to hit much with those rifles cuz they don't have any iron sights or optics on them." I wasn't paying that close attention but sure enough, they all had optic ready rifles without any type of gunsight mounted.

    kids don't miss a thing.

She's a good shot and very safe at the range.

Doesn't like to shoot my .40 though!

My boys both got on me for having the barrel of my S&W .32 top break revolver pointed at my foot when it was broken open and with no ammo in it (I don't even have ammo for it). Smart kids and I apologized to them and told them I'd do better.
