Gun Owner Unfriendly Businesses
Please add AMC Theaters to your list.
"We have put 'no weapons' signs up in all of our theaters across
America," said Melanie Bell, the vice president of corporate
communications for AMC. "We believe the movie theater is a place for
families, and so we're asking people not to bring weapons inside."
I guess us law-abiding gunowners do not have families.
Here are other organiztions with anti-gun policies:
Ben & Jerry's
Crown Central Petroleum
Levi Strauss & Co.
Sara Lee Corporation
Southland Corporation / 7-Eleven
Sport & Health, Inc.
Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt

Hmmmm, A new free fire zone for a mass murdering BG. I wonder how long before a amc theater is hit.

When you think about it, even IF people (good guys and bad guys alike) abided by a no-guns policy, that addresses only ONE of like a THOUSAND different potential ways people could attack and do harm to theatergoers.

It's a strike in the ideological war that those at the top wish to wage against gun ownership. Sort of like, I guess, if WE owned a corporation, we'd probably look for ways to be PRO-gun, and make it known that we were.

It never stops amazing me what people are thinking with regards to 'NO GUN' signs.
My first question is how can someone delude themselves into thinking a sign will stop BGs from bringing a gun. If I was carrying a weapon illegally, do they really think it would stop me from carrying? I don't think so.....& I'm willing to bet they don't think so either.
I think the real reason is they don't want LEGALLY carried firearms. They know they won't be able to stop a BG with a gun. I think they don't trust ANYBODY who carries. I bet they wouldn't mind even prohibiting off duty LEOs from carrying. I'm betting they are just totally ANTI-gun.
I bet they are the type of person who doesn't trust themselves with a firearm, so they project those same fellings to others. They think the mere fact of having a gun will cause conflict.
Even when the facts show that CCW'ers are more law-abiding than even most LEOs, they don't care. Their reasoning is based on emotion & not fact.
The other reason that they post is due to litigation fears. They think that by banning guns, they will avoid lawsuits. In my view the opposite should/could happen. I think that since they have dis-armed the patrons, it is now THEIR responsibilty to protect them. That way if something bad occurs, the liability is now theirs.......& as far as I'm concerned, in that situation...let the lawsuits commence.

Signs Mean Absolutely Nothing...
in Florida...and I've not ever seen a sign in the last six years since moving here...lived in Naples, Inverness, and now...Gainesville.
Concealed means concealed anyway...

I'll bet they'll still continue to show action/adventure movies with lots of guns in them though. This is nothing new at AMC; AMC has actually had these signs posted for years, at least here in AZ for the past 3 and back in PA when I worked LE there prior to that. I look at it this way - if it is truely concealed, no-one will know you have it until you need to use it.
The new Cardinal Stadium in Glendale,AZ is doing just that - prohibiting even off-duty LEOs from carrying inside, and they are patting down at the door.

Two reasons for not going to a Cardinals game: Anti-Carry and they couldn't beat anyone if they even tried. Who loses a game when they go into the 2nd half up by 23 points and the other team has nothing? Oh yeah - the Cardinals.

Wonder when they did that? I was just in an AMC owned theater last week. I didn't see a sign. Interesting to note there was a shooting there once. I do not believe the shooter was licensed. I was there that night about two hours previous to the indicident.

A truly small, hometown bank (100 years old, four branches) in town has ghost-busting signs all over and constantly gets robbed.
OTOH - Chase across the street has NO posted signs and has rarely if ever been robbed.
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

Remove the last two words in your final sentence above and I think you would have the answer.

The predictions of 'free fire zones' and 'victim zones,' etc. have carried about as much weight as the antis claims that CCW will result in Dodge City wild west shootouts and blood running in the streets.
