    Show us your first gun

I took the afternoon off yesterday, loaded up my truck and headed for the range. This time I carried my old single shot 20ga shotgun that just happens to be my first gun. It belonged to my grandfather and was given to me by my dad when I was 9 years old. I had not shot this gun in at least 30 years until yesterday. Brought back some great memorys. I'm gonna try to restore it, and give it a new lease on life, and one day it will belong to my grandson.
If you are lucky enough to still have your first gun, take some pics or a video of it, but even if you don't, I would love to hear about it.
    Thanks for lookin,

Re: Show us your first gun

I'll post some pics later of my first shotgun. It's the 410 my grandpa gave me. It's in great condition, with the exception of a scrape on the bottom of the barrel. One day, he was letting me shoot it at some bottles. I had got pretty accurate and he was watching me less closely. For some reason, I thought it'd be a good idea to prop it on a Radio Flyer. It was too low to the ground so I ended up in some position that when I shot it, I managed to scrape the barrel, bust my lip, and knock my self flat on my ***** in one trigger pull. Fun, but stupid, times.

Technically speaking, my first gun was a 20 gauge semi-auto that my dad bought for me when I was younger (probably around 12). He bought a similar one for my younger brother. Granted, we only shot it once, and it stayed at his house (we lived with our mother), so I saw it the one time before he ended up pawning it off.

But the first gun I ever bought myself is a Bersa Thunder .45 Ultra Compact Pro. I've had it for a great long time. An entire year, to be exact.

My ruger 10/22. Great first gun. I find it to be the most friendly to teach the new shooters in my life.

    1935A

My first pistol is a French 1935A WWII vintage sidearm. My father was stationed in Africa during WWII and I'm not sure how he came to get this pistol. It was actually manufactured by the Germans after they captured the French factory where they were being made. It has german proof marks. I still shoot this gun at least once a year. Brings back fond memories of my father.

My first was a H&R 12 gauge single barrel.
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.
