My first 1911....bought it on election day!

Yesterday, election day, I find it very fitting that I bought myself a second handgun...my first 1911! It's a stainless Springfield Mil-Spec. I am very excited. Hopefully, I'll get out to shoot it soon. I just wanted to share the good news with the forum.

My wife told me that she actually "likes" it compared to my other guns. She says it's "interesting" and "pretty." It's a great thing when my wife approves of my gun purchases.

Haha - you got it made

IIRC Bud has a Springer in his 1911 camp - what a nice way to help deal with election day

Just hope this isn't the last election day you can buy a gun, considering who won.....

    Thumbs up

    Congratulations!
I agree with the wife. It's an interesting & pretty firearm.
And decidedly deadly too! as an added bonus.
    Shoot it in good health!

On the day of the presidential election in 1992 I came home from work having just heard that Slick Willy had won. When I walked in the door I told my wife I had decided what I wanted for Christmas. It was the S&W Model 439 that her brother-in-law had for sale. She wondered why I had so suddenly decided this. I told her I needed to get a pistol while I still could. Fortunately it was not quite that bad. It was bad enough however.

    Congratulations on the Springer.

The "dual cannon" wood grips come with the Mil-Spec package along with two stainless mags and a cheapo OWB holster. It also comes with a set of basic black, plastic grips.

    Nice Gun...Good Decision...

if you want to make it a 'win-win'...tell your wife that you are so thrilled with your new purchase that you think a trip with HER to a jewelry store is in order...
