Holiday Handguns
So this year, it's a gun giving holiday.
After much debate, I've made these choices for my siblings.

Top: Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver, 3" bbl. This will soon be my brother's.
Bottom: Nerf Microdart .60 SSFM* Pump Action Revolver. 6" bbl, with tactical red dot sight on integral accessory rail and tactical laser on proprietary low slung ECRMWS mount. This is my sister's.
My brother's gift was chosen after having him covertly handle and try a couple of my own specimens, taking into consideration his needs and personality, and shopping very carefully.
My sister's gift was chosen after she mentioned she feels like she wants to shoot her cat sometimes. The box it comes in makes an expedient weapons case if you cut the top off, by the way.
And now, I am getting this.

How do I have my own present so far ahead of time? Short answer is the givers are very unfamiliar with how to purchase a firearm, were terribly afraid of getting the wrong one and are aware that it's less hassle for me to buy my own gun, so while the surprise factor is gone, it's probably for the best.
Sure it's that ugly green color, but you know what, XDs are ugly anyway, plus I can easily, easily tell it from everything else I own. The best part is I get to fondle it for 2 months and then pretend to be surprised when I open it.

The notorious Nerf Revolver has been the ruin of many a plastic cup.
But it was a necessary investment lest we ruin our holiday streak this year.
No worries, it can be made Kalifornia compliant after 30 seconds of work with a Leatherman tool.

I was thinking about picking of a Charter Arms for my girlfriend and a Makarov for myself at the gunshow this weekend. But after looking at these pictures, I think we'd have more fun shooting eachother with the Nerf shooters.

XD is a good choice (Nerf notwithstanding), though a bit pricey for me. For those on a more limited budget, take a look at the EAA Witness compact .40 S&W. Online pricing from $325 + and in-store for less than $380. The CZ-75 is another good option and can be purchased for $359 at Gander. Both can be carried and each has sufficient "umpf" to get the job done!

Lucky family members.
I propose a DNA test, in the 1 in a million chance that I might be remotely related to you in some way. OR, perhaps your parents would be interested in adopting a middle aged man.

Nice. everyone gets a gun. I like the ugly green, BTW. My SA Champ is a green/black bi tone.

I have found that if I get the present I really want early enough, I can get something else under the tree. Here's to looking for accessories.
