    SBR stamp & multiple uppers

I know the process for getting a tax stamp from Uncle Sam. I'm going the trust route as soon as my lawyer finishes writing it.

My question is whether or not I need an SBR lower for each SBR upper I get.

Could I SBR one (1) of my lowers and then buy as many SBR uppers as I want?

Once you've got the tax stamp for the SBR you can swap out the upper all you wish. The lower is the serialized component of an SBR.

Just don't start a collection of NFA uppers until you've got that stamp though... the "constructive intent" clause can ruin your day... and the following 3,649 days as well :)

What happens if I mount an SBR upper onto a NON-SBR lower that I have?

    3,650 days of problems?

Yep. Its the lower that is registered to be used with SBR uppers. As long you use the registered lower to mount the SBR upper you're good to go. DO NOT mount an SBR upper to an unstamped lower. If you get caught it can be a 10year 10K fine. The BATFE does not mess around.
