Good find. I'll check this out this afternoon when I go home and hopefully it will help me out!

    Devil's advocate

Ok, let me say it first.

1: Do you really want a copy of all you gun records on your computer for someone to hack into?

2: Learn excel and make a spreadsheet instead of loading more programs on your computer that will probably just slow it down.

    ok, I feel better

Had to register them with Uncle Sam, so I use that list. Thanks for the tip, though.

I'm thinking of using Access for my collection. I could track my guns, maintenance, and range sessions. Then I can determine what ammo is best, when to replace springs, things like that (I don't need to know what they are currently worth).

    Mtbiker:
    1. I got the program, opened it, got into the editing portion, and got the password after 3 guesses.

    2. This program doesn't really install, it just runs. It would only slow down the computer while it was running, something I cannot say for Excel.

Yea i forgot to mention its a non install progy , ie you could easily keep it on and run it from a flash drive ( usb or smartcard )

I did a thing called writing it down :) I got this handy dandy gun record booklet at my local GS. Wrote all my info on it, included pics with it. It is stored in a safety deposit box.

Bleh, being hacked is a pretty unlikely thing to happen and there are measures you could take to prevent it. For example keeping your files on a flash drive if this worries you. Who cares if they have your gun information anyway? They don't have your guns.

Excel has to use more memory than this program by virtue of being part of Microsoft Office.

I used a video camera. I made a tape of the guns and zoomed in on Ser #'s and read them as I did so they are on the audio. I keep the video in an undisclosed location, not in my home.
