    40S&W swap to 357SIG?

How many of you have done this? I know the ammo market is not kindly for new venues at this time, but I recently purchased a 357SIG barrel for my G27....then found a few decent deals for ammo online. I actually bought 3 357 specific mags even though the 40S&W should work just fine. I fired 50 rounds through my G27 with the 357SIG last weekend. I do think it's more accurate...and less muzzle climb trying to control the sub-compact Glock. I kinda grew up on the sub-compact Glock 40 for concealed carry and I'm used to the feel/recoil of that.....but the 357SIG is fine by me and better hits on target actually.

My Sig P229 and M&P40c both have a barrel for each caliber. P229 currently loaded for 357, M&P currently loaded for 40. Wish 357 Sig was not so expensive.

Yep....been down that road already! I am a fan of the 357 Sig round and carried one as a cop for a while. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and State Wildlife Resource officers are issued the Glock 31 up here. Everyone I have spoken with loves the cartridge and gun combination. Actual shooting results up here have been VERY impressive from what I have been told by officers still on patrol. The first shooting the THP had after going to the 357 Sig took place at approximately 60 yards. The suspect was struck in the side of the shoulder and the bullet traveled through the torso and stop just passed the heart (after it tore through it). Having a platform that allows you to swap barrels and calibers for specific purposes makes this a very versatile package.

Did it also . . . converted my G27 to .357 sig and purchased an extended, ported (2) barrel from Lone Wolf. Lots of fun at the range as I just love shooting .357. Recently in a trade, I picked up a G33 which I now use as my EDC. The only drawback is that .357 sig ammo is scarce around these parts and damned expensive when you do find some.

I wanted to do it...then found out that bottlenecked cases and Para ramped barrels are not simpatico.

One of these days, I'll likely just get a Glock 20 and get a .40 and .357 barrels for it...

Can anyone who has done this tell me if the POA/POI changes when shooting .357 Sig from a Glock .40 with .357 Sig barrel? As it is, I notice a lower POI when shooting 155 and 165 grain loads out of my Glock 23. I'm thinking about getting an adjustable rear sight if necessary before getting a .357 Sig barrel.

I have a SigPro that I swap out barrels from .40 to .357. Mags handle both calibers. Cheap way to have two guns in one.

I do love the 357 Sig round. Almost my exclusive EDC. I find that for me, the Glock 23/M&Pc is easier on the recoil and just handles better than the G27. I have barrels for all three size Glocks. The 357 Sig is just hard to beat. I am finding that the cost per round is no more than that of the 45 ACP when it can be found.

My current EDC is a full size HK usp 40. Since hk doesn't offer it 357 sig, I'm buying the "sub compact" glock 29 in 10mm and a .357sig conversion barrel. Depending on how I feel on any given day, I'll be carrying either the 10mm or .357sig exclusively.

My Glock 31C has barrels for 357 and 40, My Glock 27 has 357/40/9 all shoot to same POI/POA within 25 yards. The 357 Sig make gong hits at 100 yards child's play.

M&P with both 357sig and .40 barrels. A quick change to either one. Like having two guns in one.

I have a 32 barrel for my 23. Haven't come across any decent carry ammo yet. I may try it out.

my first Sig P-229, which i bought in 1995 or so, is factory chambered for .357SIG. i later bought a factory Sig .40 barrel for it. both have been 100% reliable, although i have fired MANY more .357SIG rounds through the gun than .40.

my second P-229, an Elite Dark variant, only came as a .40, so i bought a factory Sig .357SIG barrel to go in it. both barrels have worked well, though i'm having some other problems with this gun.
