    Glut of AR parts soon?

Skimmed a story in the American Rifleman that just arrived. The author stated one of the chokepoints for AR production is bolt carriers, and that a lot of smaller mfgs were held up (and at least one even driven out of business - crazy) during this year's craze with a lot of the easier to manufacture/obtain parts but no bolt carriers to complete the build.

I'm wondering if this will mean a glut soon for spare parts, if there was an overproduction of them. My wishful thinking cap is on...

I was thinking the same thing while on the crapper last night skimming through that issue. Perhaps other mfg.'s would scoop them up before they become available to the general public. Happens a lot in our industry, when one goes down someone usually steps in to purchase their inventory...

Your slowly starting to see it. I'm seeing parts kits sit on store shelves again for weeks.

Everybody is busy buying ammo or reloading equipement. I think parts will be widely availably shortly.

I think GOOD AR parts, (Fail Zero Bolts, Geiselle Triggers, Daniel Defense Bolts, anything Noveske will still be very scarce for a while).

AR's are all over the shelves if LCG's, Bass Pro and Cabelas around here. The feeding frenzy for them has definitely died down.

Once the panic buyers get tired of them and start dumping them I might consider buying one. I have something in 7.62X39 so I don't really need one.

    We can only hope....

I agree with you guys on that, I saw (3) AR's in a LGS (M&P's) for $2,200 new!!!!

Needeless to say, I belive price gouging will continue even if supply ramps up

BCG parts are the problem I here. Builders have a lot of other parts but many non-5.56 bolts are getting a bit more scarce & pricey. Places like PSA have been mostly stocking uppers minus BCG's & charge handles.

Same here it really wasn't even a frenzy here. Now handguns that is different but its slacked off too and ammo is making a good comeback except 22lr

Around here most Colt, S&W, DPMS, etc are under $1k to just about $1200. Walmart by mee had nearly 20 boxes of 223/556 on the shelf & wbout 4 ARs behind the glass. They a near identical colt in FDE furniture in a carbine to my custom build mid-length that I was surprised to see. Had to hold it & give it a good once over.
