IIRC, the last slimmer approach they took was from 1.18" wide to 1.13" ... a 4.2% reduction. Hopefully, this one can be ~15% or more. If that were to happen, I'd seriously consider the Glocks. As it is, for me, they're too wide/large for my hands and "print" too much for my tastes (due to width). Good news!

Someone confirm FROM GLOCK of the existance,or soon to be existance, of a "G21SF". Please post if they will confirm. -----

They're going to use the same magazines as the regular 21 so they're not going to be able to slim it down much.
On the other hand, based on the pic, it looks like the "hump" is smaller. Not a bad idea...guess we'll just have to see.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

Ambi mag release , hmm That tells me its going to be g4 frames , and will be a different mag design , as i have read , new mags will work in old guns , but old mags wont work in the g4 frame . Looking at the pic it still looks blocky as hell to me . I guess we will just have to wait untill someone sees an example of them and posts compairison pics somewhere .

Well no one can say glock isn't persistant. First it was the "slimline" G36, which has now been relegated to pawn shops and the occasional (however futile) attempt of it's owners to pass it off to someone else on Gunbroker. Next you have the GAP series of pistols, which in my opinion, was a round that answered a question that was never asked, and now you've got the re-tooling of my beloved G21.

I don't think this pistol is going to replace the current 21. It will be a different model altogether and was created in response to the proposed military contract.

The width of the grip really won't be changed, but by reducing the channel behind the magwell somewhat, the reach will be changed a bit.

As for the GAP, I really like it. The G37, in my opinion, has a better balance than any of the other models. I also like the way the round shoots.

one of the guys posted this on another forum...pretty much "sums up" the situation

Glock loves to piss off .45 fans!

    .45 fans:

"The G21 it too fat, we want a single-stack, slim, full-size .45 acp!"

    Glock:

    "Okay, here's a small framed concealed-carry .45 acp"

    .45 fans:

"Okay thats nice but we want a full-size version!"

    Glock:

"Don't worry, we'll expand this line"

    Roughly five years later...

    Glock:

"You've wanted it for years and here it is! A full-size, slimmer .45! Oh, but it's not quite a single stack, annnnnd it's our new .45 GAP, not .45 ACP."

    .45 fans:

    "&#&*%($*#&%(%((%#$*$()&*^#!!!!!!!"

    Glock:

"Okay, okay, here ya go! Another full-size .45! And it's a .45 ACP! It's a tad slimmer, but not as slim as the single stack you wanted."

    .45 fans:

    "Piss off, Glock"

GLOCK FANS: If you want a .45 that bad, but a 1911. Give us high capacity combat weapons that have a design younger than my grandparents. We don't use rifles designed for WWI and we don't want pistols designed for it either.

Disclaimer** I actually like 1911's. But I don't like when people want to turn every other gun into a 1911. There are plenty of them out there if you want one.
