I don't like bragging but I feel it's warranted this time.

It's been a lengthy search and I finally found one on Armlist, under MSRP, in TN.
I'm quite the proud new poppa!
Guy said it's been on his shelf for over a year, brand new. Said people in TN just don't know much about STI. I find that hard to believe but whatever, lucky me right?

Armslist isn't for everyone, and you really have to understand how to transact properly, but.....I have bought 3 guns there for much less than for which they should have sold. I just bought a 1997 P229 NIB, from a woman whose husband had recently died, for $450. Ended-up also buying her safe, that should have sold for $800-900 used, for $400. There are some great deals to be found there if you know what you're doing.

    Nice find.

You're right, many people don't know about STI. Though they've been around awhile, and IMO have some of the more-innovative designs and features (ie, the 2011 series of modular frames, the recoil setup, and truly compact double-stack 1911's a la Para's Hawg line). Strange that it had been on the shelf for a year (at a shop, I'm assuming).

Enjoy. Hopefully you don't have any initial issues to work through. On my STI Shadow .45 (officer's), it had a defective slide stop and extractor tuning that needed to be done.

Nice find! Congrats! STI is not as popular a brand, at least in my neck of the woods. Colt, Ruger, Springfield, ParaOrdinance, Sigs and others are the predominant brands of the shelves. GLOCKS...now they are amongst the top sellers around here.
