I help staff some regional shows for a promotor. All exhibitors' guns are to be tied as are all guns brought to the show by the public. This is verified before admittance.

My 5-year old & I just went over the visual and physical inspection technique again Friday and Saturday.

He has finally learned that the correct answer to "Is this gun loaded?" is "Let me check."
He has known for a LONG time that you do not touch ANY gun EVER unless daddy says it is ok.

Finger straight and off the trigger at all times prevents any gun from firing.

If you hand me a gun, the action best be opened, and you and me will both visually inspect the chamber before I take possession. Same thing handing it back.

    The steps are really simple.
