A "like" for unveiling the true moniker of this group.

What I find most disturbing about MAG and other groups is the hostility to the view that self defense is a natural right. I can only conclude that their goal is to make citizens more dependent on Government (and the obverse of making Government less beholden to the citizens).

The complicity of the media is equally maddening.

And that's what they'd reduce us to, we citizens.

Great group. Against the Constitution, no matter what it costs victims, irrespective of the fact that felons will simply laugh in their sleeves at such stupidity that clears the path ahead of their predations. And victims will be left holding the "bag" ... their dead loved ones, the loss and "holes" in their lives, left being incapable of effectively defending against armed and violent felons in our midst. Apparently, what MAG really wants is: a dead or emasculated citizenry.

I've always loved the fact that they say they're against "ILLEGAL" guns, but every proposal they forward is designed to restrict/punish those of us who own "LEGAL" guns. Take the useless chair warmer from Milwaukee, the mayor that just wants to sit at his desk, do nothing from 8:30 to 5:00 and collect his paycheck. We had 20 shootings in the course of one week and the best he could come up with (extremely reluctantly) was we need a new law on mandatory minimums for felons found in possession and $500,000 in additional overtime for the police, while also begging the state for more money.

He never acknowledged that our county judges, often impose the sentence, then stay it, so the felon does not go to prison.

He never acknowledged that his city budgets intentionally did not fill about 150 open police positions.

As for the MAG spokesman, he is simple reflecting what most liberals believe. They believe you have none/zero/zilch/nada//bupkiss/no right to self defense. It is born out of the arrogance of the same liberals who feel that are "better" than the rest of us. We are just a peasant class that should be grateful that our betters tell us how to live.

That's the aspect that has always stuck in my craw, personally. (Of course, you were being facetious.) That's why MAIG really is MAG, instead. They're FOR an unarmed citizenry of "cattle" that has little capability of withstanding any damned thing that's done to us. And that serfdom is what each and every citizen should be against.

Mayors Against Guns? So what! How about Gun Owners Against Anti-Gun Mayors. Or Patriots Against Constitution-Shredding Traitors?

From much experience with them, I can conclusively say that they do believe you have every right to self defense; just not lethal force and with a gun in particular.

I will also say that this doesn't equate to being a liberal, though many who feel this way are.

No lethal force or guns? Kinda limiting "every right to self-defense" isn't it? Such a viewpoint would even defeat the purpose of this forum.

Sounds like more semantic double speak. If you're 150 pounds and attacked by a couple of 200 pounders, how are you supposed to exercise your right to self defense without a gun? Pepper spray, one shot taser, knife for close quarters, billy club? It sounds like they believe you have the theoretical right, but in reality, you really do not have any right if the situation finds you outmatched against your attacker(s).

I realize it is an imperfect world. Forbid should I ever need to draw and fire on someone in defense, it will probably result in the perps death because I will try to get the necessary shots on center mass and the EMTs need time to get to my location. I do not want the encounter to be lethal, but you do what you have to do.

This is what happens when people who have never been in a fight are elected to represent us. I think at least one schoolyard beating is educational. For those who missed out, and want to be politicians, something could be arrainged, preferrably on TV.
