    Would you?

Let's assume you have a daily carry gun worth a couple thousand dollars.

Let's assume you are in a gun store buying a few hundred rounds of .45acp FMJ.

Let's assume you are paying .39 per round in this store.

Lets now assume a man you do not know approaches you and says his brother in law reloads and will sell .45acp ammo for .28 per round. You do not know his brother in law either.

Would you buy from the brother in law ammo you do not know anything about to shoot in your carry gun?

    This happened to me yesterday.

No. Not until I hear from some folks that have fired his ammo.

Not a chance in the world. Reloaders require a license to sell ammo.

Buying ammo from some unknown reloader brings up too many variables. One might be: Was he sober while he was reloading? etc., etc., etc.

No I did not buy ammo from the guy. Nor did I even inquire about getting his phone number.

My reasoning is as some said, is he competent in reloading or did he start doing it last week and still learning.

Also, I paid a lot of money for my daily carry and have improved upon it. I do not want it blown to pieces from an accidental hot load. The added expense of $11 per hundred rounds does not mean that much to me when it comes to getting known dependable ammo.
