Not to be smart but, what does it say on the barrel?

I have an original one and I've shot more .22LR through it than I an even remember. It's all that gun fires.

Absolutely! .22 LR is the 'default' ammo for this gun. The only .22 you can't shoot is the .22 Magnum, unless you have the very limited, late-model Bearcat that came with a .22 mag cylinder.

That gun is a real sweet piece - hope you enjoy the heck out of it!

    Read the barrel
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.

Thanks for the info. And there is nothing on the barrel telling me what it'll take. I looked there frist.

RhineStone Rachel shot her first two years of SASS matches shooting Bearcats and LP ammo. All my grandkids have shot the LR in Bearcats as a first gun to shoot. Never a problem.

I have never shot anything in my Bearcat 22 LR. It's what I start my grand kids on. They are made like a fine watch and tough as nails.
