Nachos?
Hello,
I keep seeing nachos mentioned.
I'd appreciate a dissertation as to their history as it pertains to this board and an explaination of the appropriate times in which to eat these nachos.
In other words, I've not a clue as to what some of ya'll are talking about!
I did put this here because I reckon it does somehow have to do with guns. If it must be moved I won't feel bad.
Thanks,
Josh <><

I'm not positive Joshua but I think they are saying going out for the first time carrying. Like a wal mart trip, they say going to walley world. But I could be wrong.

Most wally worlds have a snack bar and thousands of people. Put your piece where it gets carried and then go to wally world. You get the feel of carrying in a large area with lots of people. builds confidence, plus you can get something to eat while there, Nachos. When mine comes in, I will have to buy a sub cause we have a subway here.

From what I have been able to gather it is something about making your first trip in public while carrying. Apparently the prefferred trip is to go to "Wally World" and order some nachos at the snack bar (although we have McD's in ours around here. I don't know, I found this forum after I started carrying, and Wally World wasn't my frist trip. As near as I can tell, that is what they were talking about though.
As far as an appropriate time to eat nachos, more importantly, is there an innappropriate time to eat nachos? Cause I've never turned nachos down myself.

Hmmm.... interesting... I wish I had known this when I first started carrying.
The permit came in the mail, I cut it out, danced a jig, strapped my pistol on, and I don't remember where the heck I went after that. Probably to a friend's house to celebrate. We ate a lot of Taco Bell back then, and I liked their Nachos Supreme, so it's possible I celebrated with nachos without realizing it... but I just don't remember for sure!
I have another idea for a thread though.
Thanks,
Josh <><

When I first started to carry, I did not know what a nacho was--about 1951 I believe.

The evolution on CC of ''the first outing'' has become the obligatory WW visit and because most have Nacho's available - that is the snack by default - perhaps a small present to self in celebration of the first ''mission''
All in fun - but does represent a quite major occasion for most folks - walking around some large store toting a gun for first time!!!

Ok... I will be correcting this oversight my next day off, likely Tuesday night. I had no idea this rule existed.
I will be 9 years and one month late.

I am well acquainted with the first trip to Wal-Mart custom, but I had not heard of the nachos thing before until a recent post here.
My first carrying trip was to Wal-Mart but that was by chance before I heard of the custom.

I didn't know about the Wally World, nachos and WWB thing when I first got my permit.
I think on my CCW permit anniversary, I'll retroactively do the Wally World, nachos and WWB thing.
There are certain conventions that need to be observed, you know.

On your first trip out I may be incorect but I think you are to go to Wally World, buy some ammo for your firearm and get some nachos.

I hadn't heard anything about it either until I joined this board, and it was already too late! Oh, well....

"Going to Walmart for nachos" is my favorite CCW related internet meme ... and its one I intend to spread far and wide.

I didn't hear about this in 91 when I got my permit, but when I strapped it on and my wife and I took a trip to Wal-Mart. We bought a lot of stuff but I don't think we got any nachos
