I'm not certain of this papers normal political leanings but this article is pretty positive. States that 1 in 15 adult Oregonians has a CHL. In Washington state it is 1 in 12 and in Idaho it is about 1 in 16. I was surprised the numbers were that high. In California it is 1 in 550. I wonder what percentage of them carry on any kind of regular basis?
Also commented on a study out of Texas that showed convictions by license holders made up less than .02 percent of the state's total convictions, not just gun related offenses. License holders were 1/13 as likely to commit any crime at all.
