Will be joining the GSSF in November

I have decided to join the GSSF . Looks like I can get discounts on Glock pistols( can recoup some of my sell offs from earlier in the year). Maybe I can get a Christmas Glock. Also want to take the armorers course as well.

GSSF is a load of fun. Make sure you look at both the Outdoor and Indoor match schedules.

The big outdoor shoots are more fun but the indoor matches are good too.

They did change the rules on the purchase coupon though. IIRC, you have to be a member for one year before you are eligible.

Depending on your level of firearms expertise, the Armorers course can be a great benefit.

I think if you pay for a 2 year membership you get the discount immediately. I took the armors course through GSSF, I think it was $90. I figured best to learn how to detail strip someone else's gun rather then mine.

+1 on rmilchman. Of course, I saw the discount was immediate for 2 year memberships right AFTER I joined for one.

I shot my first GSSF competition last weekend (although, truth be told, I was so nervous I was happy I didn't shoot myself!). I didn't threaten to make the leader board by any means, but had a great time and am looking forward to trying again soon!

I shot the outdoor competition twice (was away for the third year). It was fun, although I didn't necessarily do that well. The second year I won the door prize of a free gun. I upgraded the free gun for a 21 Gen 4, which cost me around $100. I can not complain about a spending $100 for a g21.

It is a good entry in to competetive shooting. It is fairy low key and is very family friendly.

    Glock pistols only.

It is an easy transition from there to other competitions like IDPA & IPSC.

Ahh, ok I see. I already shoot IDPA, but any excuse to shoot is always good. Any website available that I can check it out?.
