    Niece gets her first firearm

My sister e-mailed me yesterday and told me that my niece (23 y/o) got her first firearm yesterday, a snubnose 38 revolver she purchased from a police officer. It was his BUG.

She's a chef and apparently recently her and the owners of the restaurant she works at got a scare after closing from a suspicious couple. Both owners carry concealed and the situation motivated her to do the same.

So now she's going to take the class and get her concealed carry (in NC). I texted her and congratulated her and sent her some links to good websites (including DC and handgunlaw.us). My sister told her if she had any questions to call me.

So I'm now the proud uncle of another armed good person.

Congrats to the niece. Too bad it took a scare to get her on board though.

Hay Bro we uncles gotta take our Luck where we can git it right BugDude???

I am an Uncle as well. Tho out of one of each the nephew lost points when he rolled the '96 4x4 Dodge last winter on black ice while driving home on 90. His excuse(lame as all getout) was he didn't expect black ice at seventy MPH. My first reaction was to clock him. (I did not tho he clearly deserved it)

HE ruined (wasted) rolled 3 or 4 times a 1996 low mileage (under 100 thousand miles) half ton '96 Dodge. He suffered only some small bruises, cuts and scratches. I'll probly be in my powder horn 10 years before his points go up in my book. My niece (26 sumpin) works at a popular OC joint nationally.

Take your big moments in the Sun where you can get them BugDude. Congrats to her and you Bro. It warms the cockles of my heart when I read or hear of a young person waking the Hell up such as what you have described. Wow I woke up ready to tie on a feedbag. It's times just like this I wish I had an old Lady who would make me victuals at oh dark hundred.

WOW there's some scary CAKE (Wasted Man) videos on the boob tube here. Picture a Disco Dude in full Disco getup and the styled hair and the whole 9 yards...

As I said earlier here... be thankful you have a good (smarted up) niece. Take her out for breakfast first chance you get. Granted she'll probly order a salad (if she's like MY niece) as I said ya gotta take your victories where you can get them
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.

There are drawbacks with snubbies. Capacity being the main one in my book. Range doesnt bother me. I can hit with mine, and think of them more for close range work, anyway.

That being said, I love my snubbies. I have two S&W snubbies, and love them both.

Sounds like she made a good pick.

Good for her. Now if only I could convince my daughter to do the same.
