Wheelgun-itis Strikes Again.....New Ruger and a New Carry Blade

A few weeks ago, wheelgun-itis struck really hard and tracked down a 3 inch Ruger GP100 to cure what was afflictin' me. Well, I recently fell into a relapse and need a booster shot. So I went to go see my primary care physician, "Doctor Holliday" I was prescribed this........

It's a 3 inch SP101 that I have just recently finished the exterior polishing on. Slightly smaller than the GP100, it still maintains the same barrel length. I have been partial to the 3" wheelguns as they not only have a longer sight radius, but the longer barrel maintains more of the magnums velocity while still in a highly concealable carry package. Currently I am working on carry variations so it can ultimately take its place as a back up to my GP100.

A few days after I followed my "Doc's" orders, I came upon a really nice EDC knife that I wanted to throw in here for you all to see. It's a Camillus "Beast" with a VG10 steel blade and micarta scales. The name really does this knife justice, as it is a palm filling knife that has been made for defensive work. It linear lock mechanism works flawlessly and is stout. It has a generous thumphole for opening, or a flick tip on the spine side. It too has found its way into my everyday carry routine. The pocket clip on the back also sports a neat bayonet cutout design that adds to its business like appearence. If any of you are lookin' for one, the Camillus Beast is worth a serious look.

What you need now is a presentation-grade dual shoulder holster. Perhaps Red Nichols can work up one for you.

    Don't forget the Stetson, too.

Nice looking pair, there. The three-inchers are my preference, as well. Gotta love anyone who can "do" a good wheelie.

I've got the gp100 3 inch as well. Love it. Still can't find a decent holster. What are you using?

For the GP100 I have been using a Safariland rig I ordered off of Midway. www.midwayusa.com

Cost is $42.40....I pasted the item description and product code below if you are interested. Been using this rig for a few weeks now and I must say I really to like it. Presentation from the holster is VERY smooth.

Nice, the 3" .357 revolver is IMO the perfect carry gun

I've got several SP101s but the 3" models are my favorites.

I've had versions of the short barrels before, but this one has that unique feel and balance to it. I am interested in seeing how it performs...hopefully this weekend.
