    Talking Gun Rescue

You know, I've been thinking about this for a while—Betty’s thread has prompted me to bring a concern to this responsible body.

Lately there have been a few threads about "what do I get 'so-and-so' for Christmas...I was thinking about a Streetsweeper for my dad or a Jennings .25 for my mom..."

People....Christmas is not the time of year to buy people guns they will not need or use. After a while, these guns will be neglected and malnourished...people will abandon them after the Christmas season...you'll find them on the street begging for ammo or in shelters (pawn shops) during the cold months—a pathetic experience no gun should have to endure. As responsible gun owners, I think we need to consider what is best for the guns...

Therefore, I am starting SIGguy229's Gun Rescue. It will be open for all guns of all shapes, sizes, and calibers. No gun will be turned away. However, given that it takes money to run a rescue, I ask those that support Gun Rescue to donate cash or cashiers checks—this money will be put towards the feeding, caring, and cleaning of wayward guns. You will not be disappointed! In return for your generous donations, I will send you a picture of your (sponsored) rescued gun…on the range, in the safe, and during feeding times on the range.

Look deep into your hearts and give what you can. However, the rescue starts with you! If you have more guns than you know what to do with, please send them to SIGguy229's Gun Rescue….do not let them languish!! If you see a poor SIG P239/.40S&W sitting all by its lonesome, RESCUE IT!—and then send to SIGguy229's Gun Rescue. Your spouse will understand…it’s the time of the year where we need to think about others…you rescued a gun!!

Please send your rescued gun or cash donation to:

    SIGguy229's Gun Rescue
    40 Smith & Wesson Way
    Stafford, Virginia 22940

    Merry Christmas!!

This is almost as good as when Glenn Beck gave himself a Cuban Pool Boy for Christmas on the air one year.......

Obviously you are a very selfless, kind hearted, generous person. If more people could be like you the world would be a far better place. God bless and good luck!

I, for one, will do my part, and will be setting up a donation drop-off point in Alexandria for all concerned individuals to ensure that their wayward guns are taken into a loving home.

An outstanding gesture Sigguy! I to will set up a receiving point here on the west coast, so that wayward guns can be dropped off for your project. That way, the kind folks dropping off guns won't have to pay the postage to ship it all the way to Virginia, and I will forward them (at least one) to you upon receipt, evaluation, and cleaning...

    I think I'm gonna cry......

Brings back memories of seeing abandoned, neglected guns, looking up at me with wide, brown mag wells, wearing nothing but cast off, grit encrusted stocks..... tears my heart right out.

    Good speed to you man!

I already have a drop box for unwanted knives and swords, perhaps I should add or any other weapons to the sign. I will be sure and send you the ones I have no use for. By the way if you find any that don't fit your uses, you are welcome to send them to me.
