That is the 64 dollar question LOL. Honestly myself I couldnt tell you. Prices jump up down and sideways now days from day to day. There are three Lgs close to me and on any given day any one of them is running considerably less on their comparable guns to the others. Kind of a crap shoot.

I use Discount Guns for Sale - Buds Gun Shop as a reference as they are quite competitive, a great toy store.
Also is Firearms - Impact Guns for browsing endless gun porn with some great deals often enough.

I have used both of them many times and would highly recommend either.

Once in while you can snag cheep guns on Backpage/Armstlist but very catch and catch can. But you are in FL so I think ptp selling is legal. I have found a few ok deals on the site . Just met in a public place and dont pay before hand and get a bill of sale/ some way to prove you bough it .. And you should be ok

The thing you need to factor in with online guns is FFL fees/shipping and even taxes. For me I know my dealer charges 25 a gun to transfer. So in some case that is on top of 30 bucks shipping etc so that great deal is not a good deal..

That said I like buds cause they often ship stuff free and give a cash discount , Impact guns is fun to look but there shipping is through the roof . Buds to me has gone down hill a bit a lot more junk and to me seem to push hard there auction stuff and membership program .

I have used this Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore | Online Shopping for Firearms, Ammunition and Shooting Accessories and like them most all the guns ship free and they ship fast and prices seemed ok.

Oh and also CDNN does have some deals now and then esp for the odds stuff and LEO trad ins.

Frankly with pricing it all matters what you are looking for there is a gun shop near met that does a lot of consginments so now and then some great deals .. If you are just looking for looking check out your local gun forom they often can steer you good or just pop in your local stores and look around and see what you like .

i like to buy at the LGS, the price is generally pretty good, for a few extra bucks as compared to online i can support a local business and see the actual gun i'm getting. my experience is that after shipping and transfer fee the online shops have not been that competitive in recent years.

Yep . I normal dont buy online unless free shipping or very rare ie pre 82,89 etc.

And yeah I have gotten burn with online buying. What sucks is the only gun store near me while great is mostly old old either collectible or high price c&r, class 3 , pre 89 etc stuff. There normal stuff is catch and catch can ..

I know if I lived in or near a big city I would only buy there it is just easier .

Recroom, I got to tell you that I love your screen name. Loved that movie.

"Well I guess yah picked the wrong Gol derned Rec Room, didnt yah?"

As to the OPs question...It beats me, and I have bought guns all my life. For some guns its an easy answer. If walmart sells it, its probably the best you will do, and they sell Colts, & Sigs now.

I have had some good experiences with Gander Mountain. I have also bought lots of guns from good LGS.

Getting the gun I wanted was the primary concern. The price came next. Of course, since obama has been in office, there has virtually been no normal gun or ammo market.

I'd think it would be at an estate sale or other situation in which the seller is not in dramatic, immediate need and where it's highly likely the person isn't fully aware of the current market value of the item being sold. Now and then, you read of folks who've found a seller that matched those basic criteria, and where they got a screaming deal. Doesn't happen every day, but often you can pick up excellent stuff for a song, comparatively speaking.

Once was, gun shows were often a place for such great deals as well. Now and then, they do occur, 'cause not all sellers at such places are exceptionally in-tune with the values of all products they're selling. But I haven't found many good deals on items I'm looking for, at such places. That's just me.

On GunBroker and other "auction/ads" type web sites, you can also hunt around for the deals with a No Reserve price listed. Often, you can swoop in to grab a deal in an environment when many of that same item have recently sold and where other buyers are "full up" on their buying, leaving only you left in the marketplace. Doesn't happen often, but occasionally a heck of a deal can be had with such transactions. GunBroker's search tools allow for easily identifying such opportunities, but you've got to be willing to be around near the end of such auctions, and that's not always convenient.

For myself, it's important to not be all-fired urgent in my buying. So long as I'm patient, and so long as I'm willing to think "outside the box" in terms of sources of such items, I often end up finding a great deal.

Thanks man great movies the IMFDB has a fun page on the progression of the guns in the series, love the panning shot . I have seen the first one oh about 4 times the others about 2 or 3 times each. But yeah the rec room scene is grand .

And yeah walmart does have good deals on guns . They only sell long guns but I have seen some cheep cheep entry level ar there. I think one of the stores in AZ land had a storm rifle.

I will say it is fun to go into the place that have been around for ever and have all the weird stuff . I know my local gun had a pre 89 aug on the shelf nex to a rem 8 35 and silenced 30 cal bolt gun that was a odd mix. And yeah cablesl etc have some nice stuff and if you have a sportsman warehouse they do too. I know my Cabelas has a gun room some neat stuff there.

I have found now guns are easier to find cheep ammo and some mags not so much.. Also imported guns are harder to find . I know ak/sks are harder then ars.

If this was only pre 68 then I could be telling the OP to just order him a nice open bolt 45 acp rifle in the mail .Man could have been fun to live in thous days just buying all you want though the mail..

And yeah the last few years the prices have been very high esp for anything that could be bannable .

But FL is a great gun market lot of fun places .I have freinds there and in most places esp rual they love them the guns , I think one of my freinds kept a uzi under the coach . Well that and one keeps a 308 next to a sword ..

Down in Seattle there are several Discount Guns stores. Last time I was there they had a wide variety of handguns and rifles/shotguns. I was in there one day perhaps a year ago maybe longer they had I suppose you could call it a clone, all the same it was a beautiful rendition of an MG34 in it's own shipping crate complete with 800 rounds of 8mm. Four grand and it could have been mine...

It depends on what you're looking for. 'Big branded' guns, or inexpensive 'off brand'? If I'm going 'big branded' I go to an actual gun store, and talk to people/research a lot. If I'm going 'off brand' then I shop around a lot more; still do a lot of research, but I look in different places. I bought my brand new EAA Windicator for $300 after tax- more than $40 under MSRP- at a pawn shop. I bought a Taurus 24/7 pro from the gun store with a box of ammo for right at MSRP.

It's all about what you're looking for, and how important it is to you to put money into a 'gun store', versus just getting the gun. But always shop around- I've found as much as an $80 difference between two stores just based on where they were, and their corporate status.

Not always easy, but finding a guy with an FFL who's operating out of his home and is willing to let you purchase just over his cost.

    Honestly?

I've found some of my best deals at small local shops--ones where I know the owner, and when I walk in he says "Found something that might interest you--thought of you when I got it in...".

I know that isn't very 21st century of me, but there it is.
