So, electronic? Manual? Which kind, what brand, other tips?

Again, many thanks ahead of time.

I'm gonna go do a 60' tree climb - twice - then I'll be right back.

I don't go very often, but when I do, I use an oral turkey call to make a rabbit squeal sound. I haven't been very successful with this method, but I know others who have.

Howlers, both in electronic (foxpro) and manual (Sceery) as well as a couple I have made myself from cow horn and a couple from pvc pipe. Mine are like the dakota howler.

Making Do with the Not So New: Make a Coyote Call out of PVC and plastic trash

My cow horn howler was made using an instruction manual from Herb that was originally published in American Rifleman in the 70's before he started retailing them. He (or his family) still makes them.

Of all of them, electronic included, my homemade dakota howlers seem to work the best.

Primos alpha dog got a four star rating from outdoor life right along side the FoxPro and its half the price as the shock wave which is a blatant copy of the alpha dog. The first time I used it I got a double yotes came running. I have a Les Johnson mouth call rabbit squeaker. Alpha dog from budsgunshop.com $232 way cheaper than cabelas.

i like to use a wounded yote, the distress call does wonders in attracting other yotes.

I had good luck using an electronic recording of a litter of puppies or kittens! I know it sounds weird but I've had better luck with that than commercial electronic calls. Don't be surprised if you also call in a bobcat! Good luck!

Newborn baby crying, or the sound of my wife learning the credit cards are all maxed out!

    On a more serious note.
I have used one of the "doe in heat estrous bleat" can's, during deer season and had two, one in 2010, and another in 2011 come in close enough to get lead.
Another time, while turkey hunting my buddy and his son, sitting almost back to back while calling turkey, mutually were surprised by a coyote that came within 10 feet rather quickly, and escaped before my buddy and his son could regain composure and blast it.
