    SIG P226 Special Configuration

Recently had a chance to take my new P226-9-SP special configuration out for its first trip to the range. For those unfamiliar with this non-catalog model, it consists of an Elite slide, MK25 frame, night sights, threaded barrel, and E2 grip. I love it.

Target was at 10 yards and shot off-hand. The 10 shots on the left were some of my first shots with the gun and I was just getting used to it. The 4 shots on the right were after I had some time with it and wanted to see what it could do (unfortunately, I pulled the one that's high and left - totally my fault).

Nice gun. I love my Sigs and my EDC is a P226 TacOps. 20 rounds of 9mm without having to reload.

That's a whole lotta gun for EDC! I'm impressed.

I also have a 229 but the TacOps isn't much much harder to carry. It conceals well and it isn't really that heavy. It's all about what you get used to. I also like the comfort level of 20rds so I overlook any of the minuses that can come with carrying a large gun.

I have the MK-25, and although it's a safe queen that gets the occasional range workout, it is a sweetheart of a handgun.

It was a tough call between this and the MK25, but in the end, this is the one that spoke to me.
