Good point, but then again, it would overwhelm the logic capabilities of the target audience.

OK, just had a great laugh. I tried to find a link for gasmitty and found this at the bottom of a Google search for "U.N. pictorial gun ownership":

Similar study including at least one of the maps (updated) is here: http://www.unodc.org/documents/data-...e_2011_web.pdf - not gonna spend more time looking thru it.

That is indeed chuckle-inducing. Search engines are not fool proof, as this PEF fool proves.

I read somewhere that there are 109 countries with total gun control and yet our murder rate is less than on the list of 109 and that did not include the Swiss which according to my ex boss every home must have a firearm, very interesting

The sources for the two maps in the pic are given in the pic:

Sorry, guys, I have only been on sporadically the last few days.

It was a 2007 study that I found on Facebook. I think CCW9mm got it, though.

As I've said many times; it's not about guns. It's about control.

International statistics are almost never comparable and are thus nearly useless. For example, most countries don't report suicide by gun the same way the US does (as part of the overall gun death statistics) so comparing gun death statistics by country is problematic.

    Pictorial gun ownership vs. Homicides

I just realized from the map that India, Japan, Korea and China are the safest countries with the least guns. Darn.

I'm a little suspect how "safe" the Middle East is.

And where do you get that? The information does show that gun control does not prevent deaths, but it does not prove that gun control causes deaths. Correlation does not equal causation.
