    I got a fever

    I have a problem.

I "built" a Vector Arms V-51 in .308 into an SBR. It just looked cool in the store (as a pistol) and then some butthole said something about putting a collapsable stock on it, and then after paying off the "tax" to uncle sammy, I put it all together and now have a SBR in .308.

I then took out my AR-15 and noticed that it had a 20" barrel on it and it was kinda heavy. I like the .223 so I thought, how can I get the same pleasure but in a smaller package?

Then I noticed that they make 7.5 to 11.5 uppers in .223. And they also have lowers with collapable stocks.

So, I just got in my upper today. It's a 10.5 from Del-Ton with all the evil features, which is the bayonet lug and the screw on (not pinned or welded) flash surpressor (not compensator).

On order, from the same company is a Stag lower with an A4 stock (six position).

And, as soon as that comes in, I will again pay my tax to uncle sammy and built an AR-15 SBR.

But the good news is that I'm finished with SBR's after this one.

    I think.

Although, it sounds like it would be fun

I did, bought the lower with real life cash .

I will admit, the reason that I'm going "all out" is due to the recent elections here in OR. The dems got the house, the senate, and even though the governor (demo) is "former Marine", he is anti gun as well (all the real Marines that I've spoken with say that yes, once a Marine always a Marine but they have disowned him as a Marine).

I don't expect the fed. dems will do anything until they get the Whitehouse in '08, then it's going to be no holds barred.

So, with the OR dem pols on the forefront and coming into session in Jan. of next year.... it was time to spend the money.

I thought you had to pay the tax BEFORE buying the shortened barrel?
I like my solvent and my lubricant for my guns to rhyme, so I use Gasoline and Vasoline.

uhh yeah, might want to store the upper elsewhere for the time being unless you have a registered pistol lower or another AR SBR lower....the chances of you having a problem with it are slim, but with the ATF's "Constructive Intent" deal I wouldn't want to risk it as they have said it is illegal to possess a both a short bbl upper and a non-sbs lower if you do not already have an sbs lower and/or a pistol lower.
