    One last pistol for 2013...

I've bought a lot of firearms this year (way more than I usually do). I fled to quality in my 30s. They're going up in value so fast now that it freaks me out. I honestly don't care what they're going for once they're in the safe (I hope to never have to sell one), so the acquisition cost is what concerns me, and there are several more that I really want in order to consider my collection "complete". The long guns I bought a couple of months ago were supposed to be the last of 2013. I fell off the wagon...

I did not get a fantastic deal on this. I paid a fair price. I "needed" it. There is a space right next to the 1911 and the 1922 where it will be nice and cozy.

To me this isn't just a classic, it's pretty much what almost all modern firearms manufacturers are copying and producing to conform to the conventional wisdom, and as such it is a very important piece of firearms history by one of the most important firearms designers. The whole modern defensive ethos is basically built around THIS pistol. Yes, they do it cheaper now, but I believe not better. The T-Series is considered to be best made variant of this species.

I've been looking for a T with fixed sights that is not too pristine to shoot, but has minimal honest wear. Found it. Not a bad way to end the year if I do say so myself!

    Range report when it arrives.

It seems like everybody has been getting a High Power lately.

    Except for me.

BTW, the finish on that is beautiful. I bet that slide rides like butter.

Jaeger, what a nice way to end the year! That's a classic... another one in the top 10 of my wish list.

Did I mention that I hate you? J/K!!!

Great find!!! A Hi Power is on my "guns-I've-gotta-have-someday-but-can't-quite-see-my-way-clear-to-buying-right-now" list. Like you, I'd like to find one that's almost pristine, but not safe-queen pristine!

    Congrats!

I don't own many 9mms, and have never had the dies for it. I plan on getting a set and shooting the heck out of this pistol.
It's a fairly heavy pistol at 2+lbs loaded, so the recoil is nothing. Lead..., and lots of it.
