Over priced. I bought a Ruger SR1911 CMD last week from a LGS for $699. Gander $799. UMC .45acp from WW $19.99. Gander $29.99.

I have never found anything at a low enough price there to get me to buy from them.

Well since I come from a long line of tight fisted bargain shoppers looks like it's a darn good thing there ain't no Gander Mountain store in my area.

I have had good luck with Gander Mtn in Jackson & Knoxville, TN. I have bought a number of guns from them.

They also carry guns that you cant find locally at other stores. The people at the Jackson store seem to know what they are doing, and have been there for years. At least some of them.

WAY overpriced! Great selection but sky high prices. Their used Glocks are priced as if they were brand new. $550 for a used 3RD GEN??? Me thinks not! Also, I'm in the market for a SA Socom 16. The going rate for my area (Fort Bragg) is from $1500 to $1800. Gander's price is $2,000. Uhhhh no. Other than overpriced firearms, it's a nice place.

That's been my experience at the big box stores I have been in. Never have been to a Gander Mountain though.

I've popped in a few and just looked around. They reminded me a lot of Bass Pro... good selection of guns to look at and fondle, but terribly priced.

They are so overpriced that I feel they are taking advantage of uneducated consumers. That's why I don't like them.
