I am fishing for help here, guys and gals. Can anyone in Pennsylvania bring me up to speed on the laws regarding residents giving a handgun to a family member as a gift? (Correctly assume that the recipient would have no problem qualifying for his/her own purchase.)

Subject to confirmation - I have understood that immediate family is OK. Spousal is in particular acceptable. My wife has my Bersa for instance - it is still ''technically'' mine - but she has custody. The Bersa my step daughter has - she in fact did her own paperwork even tho I bought it for her.
These days tho much care has to be taken to avoid any purchase being seen as a straw purchase - which makes me think that the safest way of all is actually having the intended owner fill out the paperwork.
