fwiw, I would take the dog over a person anyday for a helper in the shop. I have two helpers, one to keep my feet warm, and the other to make sure all rawhide and woodscraps from the shop are properly disposed of.

This fits very tightly as i fit it took about a hour one stroke here with file one stroke there with file I fit as tightly to the frame as i could and get it to function

Well, I guess I'm really showing my age. When I saw the subject line, "Picked up a Colt 1911 {Updated 1-5-07}", my mind saw it as "Picked up a Colt 1911 {Dated 1-5-07}", which I immediately considered to be 1907! Wow! One of Browning's first prototypes! No, wait, . . . Egad, I gotta sleep more . . .
nice bud have a feeling youv done the beaver tail thing before as it took me about 6 hours but was verry carefull as i had never done one .had to remove alot of the rear of the frame on the high standard there verry long and pointed i like the slide what is it looks great
