    New Colt yes Another

This is a 1991A1 With parked finish and Bomar sights

Waiting for a response from Colt but i talked to Kathy once and gave her info

What i can find this is a Lew Horton edition so waiting to see what colt says

The bomar sights are what is really weird as this hasn't been a normal catalog offering

Think this might be a nice base for my other project ..lol

The original owner had it for years and it was a back up to a backup for his main idpa i think he said gun

had 5000 though it when he sold it the second guy says he shot 200 rounds though it and it sit as he bought a gold cup

nice looking gun. with some time and $$$ you can make it into a great "race gun" or could make it into a good carry gun.

    Looks good Bud, congrats.

The bomar sights are what is really weird as this hasn't been a normal catalog offering
The commissioned weapons weren't cataloged and if the unit count was high enough, they could get about whatever they wanted on them.

If you sent Kathy the serial, she'll have some info for you Monday.

What's the difference between a 1911 and a 1991? How is it updated?

The 1991 has a Series 80 fire control system, it contains these extra parts.

So, then is there a difference between a series 80 and a 1991?

Not really, finishes and model names.

That's where Colt really confuses the matter Bud, Colt has model numbers and model names.

They kept the 01991 as a model designation, but no longer make the M1991A1. Colt dropped the M1991A1 around 2002 and brought out the New Roll Marked 01991 as the, "Colt's Government Model 45 Automatic Caliber." Then there are the subcategories of 1991A1s, like your 1991LH1 and my 1991LCM and many others.
As you said, the XSE and the Series 1991 Government Models are Series 80, as is the Gold Cup Trophy, Special Combat Government, Super .38 and the Defender.
    All very confusing.
