    Recently a guy at the range had a box of some of the old explosive bullets (they were so old they had corrosion on the bullets). They looked like hollowpoints with some blue stuff sealing the opening. They were fired at both the metal backstop and some bowling pins. No difference from shooting normal bullets.

    One thing not mentioned here was the fact that filling a hollowpoint with Hg will increase the weight of the bullet, creating lower velocities, higher pressures for the same powder load, etc.

    Well it could be used as a form to cast non hollow point bullets.

    You could always get some of these and put in the proper loading powder and a primer.
