That is truly cool and you keeping his name alive is a tribute to how your Father or Mother raised you.

That's pretty cool you have that and the shape it's in.
What exactly is it? How old was your grandfather? Did he compete there at a shoot or take a course? I've never seen anyone post one of those before. Truth be told, I don't know the history of Camp Perry or how long they have been around.

That is a really keen thing to share here on Defensive Carry Forum. Thanks for posting the photo! I like seeing it.

Thanks everyone! I am visiting some family and found it in a binder with his Army discharge papers and POW letters that were rescued from the old family home and haven't been looked at. I was surprised because he didn't enter active service until February, 1941. He used to talk about shooting competition for extra leave and other such anecdotes. When I saw this I about jumped out of my shoes.

I agree with those who suggested framing it.

I, too, have my Dad's certificate from Camp Perry around here somewhere, and his Navy discharge package from WWII. His WWII photos and letters and such will be offered to the Seabee Museum one day when I feel comfortable letting go of them.

Very cool , I went and shot in the National matches at Camp Perry two years as a junior NRA member as the matches are open to anyone who had qualified by shooting other sanctioned matches. Camp Perry has hosted this for quite some time as well been the testing area for the Thompson sub machine gun and various other weapons.
