P22 was the second handgun I purchased. I must have got a pretty good one. It will shoot any ammo I put through it, and i've only had a handful of FTF or FTE in about 5,000 rounds.

Borrowed a buddies p22 for a weekend to try out. I think they're neat little guns, feel great in the hand. I had no feed issues with it but had several light hammer strikes. Each time a second double action pull of the trigger fired the round. I thought it may have been a bad batch of ammo but my buddy admitted he has the same problem from time to time. I think it makes a great training/plinking gun, but don't trust them for social purposes. I'm not keen on using any rimfire for self defence anyway.

I bought one for my wife in early December. We have several thousand rounds through it with 0 failures and using bulk ammo (Remington and Federal).

A good little gun and I may actually get one for myself.

You might consider a S&W model 17 or 18. They are better than the new stuff from s&w - and you can hand it down to the next generation.

I have a Walther P22 with the 3.4 inch barrel. It is by far my favorite gun to plink with.

You can't go wrong with this little gun. It feels good in your hand, its reliable (I've put several thousand rounds down range without any trouble). It is very accurate out to 25 yards. And is doesn't cost too much (I paid $275 for my black on black model). Or too much to shoot as much as you want.

Not quite sure what you mean by the Ruger not balancing in your hand though, I have a Ruger Mark II Target with a 5" bull-barrel that has shot great for me the past 20+ years. I have really liked this gun too, it is a true target pistol.

If I had to pick between the two I'd buy the Walther it is just easier to load, shoot & hold.

I would say buckmark or mark II you just can't go wrong with either one fo them.
