Sales were way up the previous two years. Trying to beat the 10 round magazine limit and MSR bans in MD, I for one pretty much exhausted my discretionary funding for firearms as well as the patience of my spousal unit.

We'll, 300% growth can only last so long. That 12% reduction still isn't correcting for the run on the market in 2012-13.

Perhaps if the ammunition supply were to catch up with the demand, gun sales would start to pick up again.

I would agree with them for once. ( We need to get more people into it I guess)

    $626 million in sales. Nice.

The only thing I worry about is that S&W might recommend an Amendment to remove the two-term limit. Four more years! Four more years!

OK Max, keep talking four more years like that and I'll have to change my name to distance myself from you...

Re-reading the thread title, was that an intentional pun?

Yep, gun sales are down from the record burning pace they were selling. But they are still "up" from pre-obambi days.

Hey, I'll be ridiculously happy when 2016 rolls around. Hard to deny, though, that the current denizen of the White House has done wonders for gun sales. Threatening, and then failing to pass, restrictions creates pretty much optimal conditions in that regard.

If you look at the article the sales of semi auto long guns are down. Sales of handguns are still up. I think we all knew that without a "assault weapons" ban, the market glut on long guns was going to kill the sales of those guns. People who spent $1,000-1,500 for a $600 gun with expectations of making a killing on them are now stuck with something no one will pay them their asking price.

It is pretty stunning that a product you have to pay in-full for, pay what amounts to a 50% tax on, and then wait 6-9 months while ATF does a colonoscopy on your public records could be booming. Buying a car and then registering it and getting plates is orders of magnitude faster and easier than buying an NFA item.

Just wait till the next election run...

But right now I think people are spent on buying..,. Which is the good time to buy me thinks..
As for silencer that easier .. More states legilizing them and also the big reason allow them for hunting ..
