My Comments: Bulk buys are trending down. Local retailers (gun shops) are still milking the % on small boxes. But availability seems to be up, except for the elusive .22............... LOL

Who would have EVER thought .22's would be selling for some of the prices we see today. I remember going down to the old Western Auto's and sporting goods shops and buying them for $2 to $3 a box. Shotgun shells were around $5....miss those days!

.22 has gone down somewhat. For a while it was on par with 9mm, which made the choice for me pretty easy.

But long gone are the halcyon days of 5,250 rounds of Federal bulk at $169.99 delivered.

I hate to say it, the world has changed. I remember when gas went over $1.00 a gallon and stations had to replace their pumps because most only went to 99c (2 digits). You think I ever would have dreamed of seeing $4/gal gas? Like you, I remember grabbing $5 per brick of 22 and dumping them into bottles and cans out in the woods.

I mean seriously, its cheaper for me to store the 22 rifles and shoot my 223 rifles or 9mm pistols than buy 22. I can reload those far cheaper than the going price of 22 this year. Last year, no, I managed to buy about 45,000 22 rounds averaging around 5c per. This year I am not really seeing it much less than 10c.
