    I guess I'm in the minority. I like my 1911's plain jane. Don't even like engraving. Oh well. JMO and worth exactly what you paid.

    For practical reasons, i do too - it has a bit of engraving, and a stippled grip for retention, but my Kimber Custom is fairly "plain."

    However, nothing beats a flashy set of pistols, especially 1911s. Something like the ones Castor Troy had in Face/Off: http://infinitecoolness.com/faceoff09.jpg
