AK or AR ? ... AK AND AR ** Gen 2 glock 19

Recently picked up an Arsenal SLR 107FR 7.62, I'm super pleased with this weapon. I placed an order at brownells for the Midwest Industries AK rail & US PALM battle grip, should be in this coming week. This is my first experience with the AK platform so I cant really compare it to other AK's. Now that I have both an AK & AR, my opinion is that they are 2 totally different beasts (apples to oranges) , both awesome in their own respects. The AK is awesome for its durability, power and ammo prices, the AR is great for its ergonomics, light weight and accuracy.

Lol. Arsenal is one of the absolute best AKs you could have bought. Period.

Of course, as far as reliability, and a good carry weapon, Glock 19 is also one of the best.

    Very good choices. Congrats.

IMO the Gen 2 Glocks are the best of the breed. Good find!

I think the SLR107 is the same model Arsenal that I have and I love it. Even though I am a Veteran of the Vietnam conflict and a true American Patriot, I would pickup and use an AK every chance I got. I wish I could have brought a few home with me, but I didn't. Dang Nab-it.

I started with the M14 and went to the M16 when I was there. While I did not see much heavy combat action, I still preferred the AK over the AR (at the time). I still love the AK.

Fellow Arsenal 107, AR15, Glock 19 gen 2 owner here.

    Good job on your selections!

Dont do/add too much to the 107, it's fine the way it is.

AR doesn't get used at all [and I had it before my AK's!]

Had Magpul AFG2 on both of my Arsenal's for a while.

Found I had them on there "just because". Never felt comfortable with the position it put my arms in and din't help me control the rifle any better.

Went with a Shorty Vertical grip and it basically acts as a backstop for my hand when gripping the forend. Have much better control with the vertical versus the angled.

You do realize the only issue... Now you have gotten into two of the more addictive guns and they breed fast...next thing you know you open your safe and ak as far as the eye can see...

I been wanting to try a Arsnal to see how it is ...do try a pre 89 sometime too ..

That sounds like the same way I hold my AR and it's very effective for me,
