I don't know it only has 5 shots, what if the first round fails to stop the attacker....

You know because the attacker is a Tiger, or Polar Bear

WOW, I'll never enter a caliber war again. Least not if that guy is in here.

I love the solid sound of those rounds being loaded into the hand cannon.

I pre-ordered, and got one of the first X-Frames (about ten years ago) available in St. Louis. It's a hoot to shoot and guaranteed to put a smile on the face of anyone who enjoys shooting handguns. I made a video blowing up all sorts of things the afternoon I picked it up (I have no idea where it went).

The one that most impressed me was a 1/2 gal., plastic jar of Mayonnaise. While melons and other things blow apart the mayonnaise just disappeared. I mean it turned to mist so that there wasn't even a glop or drop of mayo on any of the foliage. Everything just kind of had an oily sheen on it...

I know there's a lot of debate about pressure damage and temporary cavities (vis a vis penetration) caused by handgun loads, but I have to believe that when you're talking African, dangerous game levels of force those effects have to be quite significant and evident. I know people who carry a the 5" X-Frames that come out of the S&W Performance Center. It is doable, but I would think difficult to get used to. It would be like two .45s in the same holster.

The .500 is a reloader's dream. I think it's the most versatile handgun round ever for the reloader. You can load from sub 300gr up to 725gr, and all manners of speed. I typically load a 600gr bullet at the top of the chart with Lil' Gun to maximize felt recoil. For me that's the whole point of having one. It's a BBQ gun, range toy, and a hunting pistol if I ever actually get to do the Texas hog hunt we've been talking about for five years...

It always puts me in a good mood when I see big guns blow up fruit and stuff.

I'd only really be worried if the perp was trailing a tiger or polar bear, and I wasted a shot on the perp. That'd mean I only had four shots left. Yikes.

I've shot a 454 casull and a 480 ruger, haven't gotten my mitts on one of these yet. i'll mention it was a Freedom Arms 454, and that was one of the finest handguns I've ever had the pleasure of holding/shooting. talk about craftsmanship.

some kid had a 4" barreled ruger 480. ridiculous. waited til the sun started going down. the fireball out of that thing was a hoot. even that 4" was popping stuff like my 7 inch 44 mag.

    fun stuff!

Somewhere.....likely in California or New York......someone is watching this and saying "What did those melons do to deserve this horrible abuse".

At the same time....somewhere.......likely in the South or South West......someone is watching this and saying "Hey honey, put watermelons on the grocery list, I just got and idea."
