    New to me Sistema

Dang, I searched high and low through my subscriptions and Advanced Search for the gun porn thread or the one that had a lot of 1911's in it, but no luck. They must have went poof.
So here's we go. More than I intended to type. I only intended to post pics, but a new thread needs words so...

I saw this and had to have it. A model 1927 Sistema Colt. Internal Federal police issue 1954. All matching except the mag, but the mag is close, so who knows. Black plastic grips original for that time, no import marks and a nice worn barrel, but I was still able to put four shots into the same hole from seven yards (close I know) without really being able to see the sights. The other three weren't that far off the mark.

I stuck it in "the case that John built". Don't hate on the B-M, lol.

Nice looking. It tops the list of a few nice guns that have come our of Argentina.

Man! Winchester '94 take-downs and this thread too ... in the same night! I was headed to the bed zone but won't be able to sleep now.

That's a great addition to a fine collection right there! Just think how we snootily turned up our noses at those off-brand Argentine .45s at gun shows back 25-40 years ago. Not American made. Not Colt. Not worth it.

Some of us rue the day we let some bargains on some good shootin' fun get by us. Now they've even entered the realm of the "collectible," and with good reason too.

The pistol looks great and the group shot is fine too.
