If one side has to be chosen then with a semi it seems the eject port is what they choose to need seen even if controls stay hidden! Often tho it is useful to see both sides.
Revo's probably have left side photographed as that is where cylinder release catch is, and the side to which crane opens.

One of the things I really like about the Sigarms site is that every firearm pictured shows the left side initially. Then on the page for that firearm there will be a right side picture available. Some have other pictures available and many have a 360 degree view.
