Happiness is a warm gun!
I got temporarily assigned to night shift this weekend. Was carrying my PT145 when I went to work and since I can't carry inside the building I left it in the console of my pickup. Got off at 7:00 this morning and before I left I slid the gun back into its holster.
A chunk of metal sitting in a vehicle in 9 degree weather is cold, let me tell ya now! The love handle on my right side was cold all the way home!
I'm a child of the 60's, but I got over it.

Happiness is also even a cold gun - but one you know will soon warm up again

No. There was a thread yesterday entitled 'finish the sentence: Happiness is..' and a girl who's a fellow ccw replied 'a warm gun'

You need to get a heated holster. The kind you can plug into 12 volts

But how far can I get from the car with it on? :)

Now that may be an idea; a 12 volt heated gun rug. slip the gun in, plug it into the cigarette lighter (or to be PC, "axillary outlet") and presto! Warm gun!
