    Project 2.5

Since The Trophy Match was out I had to do somethign so

Well Might as well use the colt i bought just for this project

Reason i wasn't Going to use the colt is this one uses a Gold cup style hood Which is a Lost Smaller Hood than a Standred 1911

Well with the Measureing this thing will pretty well fit with the kind of fitting you are used to with a match Barrel..

The Fitting took less time than it took to measure the trophy match I might need soem final tweaking on the comp to slide fit but was getting tired and will leave that for another day

Fitting the Link To barrel took about a hour
Also the back of the barrel lugs was out of spec had to square them up so about 2 hours to fit prep the barrel and Link

This was done before i knew it wouldnt work in t-match

The Sharpie marker is your friend

To bad I didn't have another Solid trigger

Wow - someone HAS been busy!

Good tho to see, judging by time needed - that you have been very careful and patient - IMO only way to go with such jobs.

The end results justify the hard labor. It's a good long time since I did a major project but well recall the beads of sweat as I tried to make perfection, remembering the old rule - what ya take off ya can't put back on

You got it Chris i swipe with file resharpie up and try fit again

As a repair man i use my hands all day but man are they sore after this I'm not used to working with this small of parts and the pressure's involved to hand fit the part

I'm sure someone who has done a lot more barrels could fit one fast but talk about tight lock up

So for now its down till i add a beavertail and all new fire control ambi safety etc etc

Looks good. Obvious that you took your time and did it right.

And yes, Sharpies are your friends. The time you take in prep pays off in the end. I have had to fit a few parts on some rebuilds that I have done so far, and you do have to take your time.

On a couple of knock around projects, I broke out the rulers and micrometers, and they still never came out right. Others, I just went by "feel", and in the end I was more pleased with the outcome.

Hope she shoots well. Looking for your report.
