M21 Assault Rifle?
Tonight on National Geographic channel, there was a pretty good documentary where they followed contractors from Armor Group and Hunt Security around Baghdad. It was really interesting. Anyways, at one point they were talking to guys from Armor Group (a British company) about the modified M21 rifles they were using, and they guys said that they only used Russian/Soviet made weapons, and these they had just shortened the barrel on and re-machined. It looked pretty much just like a shortened AK, using metal mags, nor Bakelites, and didn't have the normal short barreled AK muzzle break.
The journalist said M21, not the contractors, so does anyone know about this weapon, becuase last time I checked it was an American sniper rifle designation?

I'm not familiar with an M21 other than the US sniper rifle. I've never heard of a Soviet/Russian rifle with a "M" designation.

Only M21 I ever heard of was a M14 , scoped for sniping. (US issue)

That is the only variant I have ever heard of, and I have never heard of a Russian/Soviet weapon with a "M" designation. I just thought that it was kind of odd. I noticed it was on again at watched the same part to make sure i didn't hear them wrong, and I didn't.
